This software is a useful accompaniment to the study of Macbeth. Although the information it contains is quite general, the presentation of the program, and particularly the video, enables pupils to engage with the text in a variety of ways. It provides a good all-round commentary on key areas of the play, though it lacks built-in exercises and does not provide a great deal of information. However, the engaging presentation stimulates pupils’ interest.

KS4 (Years 10 - 11)

This software is a valuable resource for those teaching Macbeth and, to a degree, Shakespeare generally. It is particularly suitable for students wishing to engage in research with an emphasis on exploring the play. The video footage and audio clips provide an interesting alternative to a textbook and allow the pupils to engage with the play in a very positive way. In order to satisfactorily cater for a Key Stage 4 class, aspects of the play could be dealt with in more depth, but otherwise this title lives up to its claims.

Multimedia Science School Biology 11-16: Breathing and Respiration Evaluated

KS4 (Years 10 - 11)

This is an excellent addition to the suite of tools. Although it is fairly small in extent, it allows a lot of ideas to be covered and brings alive some teaching which would have had to be 'chalk and talk' hitherto. The animations are clear, both as individual panels and in depicting the relationship between them (e.g. it is easy to see where the alveoli relate to the overall lung structure). Each animation can be viewed at different levels of activity.
