Literacy Bank 6 provides a classroom teacher with an easily manageable resource of printable and onscreen exercises designed to assess many of the Word and Sentence Level objectives covered within Year 6 of the National Literacy Strategy. Pupils’ attainment within each exercise is recorded and exportable, and the pupils are given instant feedback on their progress. The program is not without drawbacks in terms of differentiation and support for pupils who get exercises wrong. However, it is not the purpose of the program to teach, but to inform.
