Classroom OrganisationThe children were introduced to the online comic by showing them the introduction on the interactive whiteboard in the ICT suite. Pupils could then access the stories and quizzes for themselves on individual computers either in the ICT suite or in the classroom. Context of UseThe website was used to support the teaching of RE and PSHE. The current unit of RE includes work about the topic of friendship. Ease of Use - Design & NavigationThe opening page has a contents list of all seven chapters of the story, clear, simple navigation buttons offer the choice of moving back, on to the quiz or returning to the main menu. Each chapter is presented on a single page in comic book format. Monitoring & AssessmentAt the end of each chapter there is a short quiz, some questions assessing the children's understanding of the text, while others ask their opinions. The test begins by asking the average age of the class, however this does not alter the number or difficulty of the questions. It would be interesting to have teacher access to the answers given by the children in the opinion questions but this is not possible. Feedback from Pupils and Other StaffThe pupils enjoyed both the story and the quizzes. They particularly liked the comic book format and the humour used. After the sessions, pupils discussed the website among themselves in the playground and one or two accessed it at home independently. The pupils said that it was fun to use and showed interest in and sympathy for Bo Solo. All the pupils who used the website were interested in returning to the stories and in exploring the site as a whole.
