The title is well constructed and can be a useful resource for teaching Food within the Design and Technology Curriculum within Key Stage 3. It can be used in a variety of ways and works well as a standalone with an individual student or as part of a lesson to the whole class. The clips have been well selected to allow students to view parts of the process which would normally be difficult to access. The drawback to the disc is that some of the activities are simplistic to complete and tend to rely on click-and-drag-type games to test understanding. Read KS3 evaluation... |

The title was demonstrated to the class using the data projector and whiteboard. The students then worked on individual laptops and concentrated primarily on the area of food design. The title provides a fair selection of very absorbing and informative video clips from Channel 4's Food Technology TV programmes. These clips enable the teacher to bring the now very real world of food design right into the classroom in a way that would normally be impractical. The title is straightforward to access and navigate and enables the teacher to give his students an attractive and educational insight into the world of industrial food design.
