This is an excellent resource that offers students an exciting way of responding to pre-1914 poetry by using film, music and sound to reach a personal, informed interpretation of a range of poems concerning the theme of nature. The quality of film is superb and would certainly inspire students to respond to a subject that can sometimes be difficult for young people to engage with. Films are simple to construct, edit, save and view, and the results are professional and powerful. Comprehensive and clear instructions are provided as well as teacher and student support material to enable each user to get the most out of the resource.

Poetry and Motion Pre-1914 was used with a group of 20 Year 10 pupils who had access to individual computers on which the program had been installed. The teacher demonstrated the program on an interactive whiteboard, introducing the interface and concepts to the pupils. They then practised using the program before undertaking the task to complete an edited film sequence to accompany a specific poem. This program will do wonders for the use of ICT in the English classroom. At long last here is a truly innnovative program that provides teachers with the potential to do something really different in their lessons. I am hugely impressed with this product and feel sure that it heralds the way for similarly innovative products to be made available for other subjects in the Curriculum.
