'The Rise and Fall of Nazi Germany' is a very good teaching aid. If you are looking for a piece of software that measures attainment, provides lesson plans and tracks pupils' progress then this title isn't for you. If, however, you are looking for a solid, well written, well targeted and well constructed piece of software which can be demonstrated to the class or used by individuals, and used to form the basis of many future lessons, then this title will certainly be useful to you. The maps, diagrams, articles and data are all of an excellent quality. In addition to this, the online resource bank gives teachers the ability to produce their own tailor-made, differentiated worksheets from which their pupils will progress. The program is of a high quality, factually excellent and would be a good tool to use when teaching about Nazi Germany in Key Stage 4. Read KS4 evaluation... |

The program was used with a group of Year 11 students who were studying the reasons behind the rise of popular support for the Nazi party in the 1920s and 1930s. The Versailles Treaty presentation within the program was used as part of a revision lesson, the Treaty having been dealt with in class the previous term. The teacher used the program as a starter, to reinforce and refresh previous knowledge. The program was again used during the plenary to assess what had been learned. The animated maps and graphics had an obvious impact on the class. The teacher had no difficulty in using the program. Navigating from screen to screen did not interrupt the flow of the lesson. The timelines and presentations enhanced student understanding of the topic. Read KS4 evaluation... |
